Breathe in the spectacular Southland terrain, lush bush and stunning coastal scenery and experience the great outdoors in a unique style by horse trekking in the Catlins, Invercargill and Riverton.
Catlins: Enjoy two hours of guided horse trekking with spectacular views and experience the exhilaration of riding in unspoiled natural tussock country. Experienced guides will take you across the Catlins hills, taking in some of the beautiful wild scenery available in this part of the world. Ride amongst farm animals in a natural environment. For something a bit different, take a Llama Trek in the Waikawa Valley area.
Invercargill: For a true southern experience, book with either of the two horse-trek operators based at Otatara - 10 minutes from Invercargill. Take a trek along the Oreti River, over open plains, through the bush and forest, along the beach - wide and open with not a soul in sight, with Stewart Island for a back drop over the sand dunes.
Riverton: Trek along the beautiful southern beaches, cross onto farmland then trek up through native New Zealand bush.
